2.As water evaporates off the surface of an object, the faster moving molecules, with more kinetic energy, escape as a gas, while the lower energy molecules, with less kinetic energy, remain as liquid.

3.The weight of the insect and structure of their feet in combination with the surface tension of water allow some insects to walk on water. Water molecules are more attracted to each other than they are to other materials, so they generate a force to stay together called surface tension.

4.Ice floats because it is 9% less dense than water. In other words, ice takes 9% more space than water, so one litre of ice is less than one litre of water.
