Molar mass of individual elements:-

  • Mg = 23 g
  • H = 1g
  • C = 12 g
  • O = 16 g

Now substitute them in the equation to get the molecular formula

⇒ 23 + 2[ 1 + 12 + 3(16) ]

⇒ 23 + 2[ 13 + 48 ]

⇒ 23 + 2[61]
