 {\underline {\boxed {\Large {\bf \orange { \odot  23100 \: {cm}^{2} } }}}}

Given:

• Circumference of base = 220 cm

• Height = 105 cm

To calculate:

• LSA of the cylinder.

Calculation:

As, we know that :

 {\underline {\boxed  {\sf \purple { {LSA}_{(Cylinder)} = 2\pi rh \: sq. \: units} }}}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Step 1 : Substituting values.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \sf { {LSA}_{(Cylinder)} = 220 \times 105 \: {cm}^{2} }

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Here, we directly multiplied the circumference and height because we know that,

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Circumference = 2πr

And,

  • LSA of cylinder = 2πrh, so

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

LSA of cylinder = Circumference × height

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Step 2 : Performing multiplication.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \boxed{\sf\orange { {LSA}_{(Cylinder)} = 23100 \: {cm}^{2} }}

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Hence,

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

 \boxed{\sf \purple{ LSA \: of \: cylinder = 23100 \: {cm}^{2} }}

More formulae:

• Volume of cylinder =  \sf{\pi {r}^{2} \times h}

• TSA of cylinder = 2πr(r + h)

• LSA of cylinder = 2πrh

» TSA and LSA is always calculated in square units.

» Volume is always calculated in cubic units.

circumference of base = 2πr

2πr = 220

r = 35cm

h = 105 cm and r = 35cm

LSA of cylinder = 2πrh

=>   2*π*35*105

=> 23,100cm sq
