Question-

Samir has a lunch box which is 8cm long, 5cm wide, and 4cm high. Saran's lunch box is 10cm long, 4cm wide, and 2cm high. Find the volume of both the lunch boxes and find which has a bigger volume.

Solution -

Given,

length (l) of Samir's lunch box=8cm

breadth(b) of Samir's lunch box =5cm

height (h) of Samir's lunch box = 4cm

Now,

Volume of Samir's lunch box = l×b×h

Volume of Samir's lunch box= (8×5×4)cm³

Volume of Samir's lunch box = 160cm³

And

Length (L) of Saran's lunch box=10cm

Breadth (B) of Saran's lunch box =4cm

Height (H) of Saran's lunch box =2cm

Now,

Volume of Saran's lunch box=L×B×H

Volume of Saran's lunch box= (10×4×2)cm³

Volume of Saran's lunch box =80cm³

Hence, volume of Samir's lunch box is 160cm³

Hence, volume of Samir's lunch box is 160cm³and volume of Saran's lunch box is 80cm³

Therefore the volume of Samir's lunch box is bigger
