Heya!

Q.No 5

Let the present age of son be = x years

And

Let the present age of his father be = y years

ACCORDING TO THE GIVEN QUESTION

x + y = 60 ... Equation i

x = y/2

Put value of x in Equation i we have

y/2 + y = 60

3y = 120

y = 40

Now, put value of y in Equation i we get

x = 20

So, present age of son is 20years.

And

present Age of his father is 40years.

Q.No6

Let the present age of son be = p years

And

let the present age of his father be = q years.

ACCORDING TO THE GIVEN QUESTION

( q - 5 ) = 7 ( p - 5 )

7p - q = 30 ... Equation i

( q + 5 ) = 3 ( p + 5 )

3p - q = -10 ... Equation ii

SUBTRACT BOTH THE EQUATIONS WE HAVE

4p = 40

p = 10

Now, put value of p in ii Equation we get

q = 40

So, present age of son is 10years

And

present age of his father is 40years
