Area of the square ABCD = (Side)2

= (20)2 = 400 cm2

A of Triangle 1 =1/2*b*h=

1/2*10*10=50cm2

A of Triangle 2=

1/2*10*20=100cm2

A of Triangle 3=

1/2*10*20=100cm2

Area of the three triangles

= 50 cm2 + 100 cm2 + 100 cm2 = 250 cm2

Area of the shaded portion

= 400 cm2 – 250 cm2 = 150 cm2
