Step-by-step explanation:

There is an empirical relationship between the three measures of central tendency:

3 median = mode + 2 Mean

Mean = 3 Median - Mode/2

= 3(1250) - 1000/2

= 1375

Thus, the mean is 1375.

Gɪᴠᴇɴ :-

  • Mode = 1000.
  • Median = 1250.

Tᴏ Fɪɴᴅ :-

  • Mean of This distribution ?

Fᴏʀᴍᴜʟᴀ ᴜsᴇᴅ :-

  • Empirical Relationship between Mean, Median and Mode :- Mean - Mode = 3(Mean - Median)

Sᴏʟᴜᴛɪᴏɴ :-

→ Mean - Mode = 3(Mean - Median)

Putting values we get :-

→ Mean - 1000 = 3(Mean - 1250)

→ Mean - 1000 = 3Mean - 3750

→ 3Mean - Mean = 3750 - 1000

→ 2Mean = 2750

→ Mean = 1375 (Ans.)

Hence, Mean of This distribution is 1375.

Extra :-

  • ☛ Mean is the average of the data set which is calculated by adding all the data values together and dividing it by the total number of data sets.

  • ☛ Median is the middle value among the observed set of values and is calculated by arranging the values in ascending order and then choosing the middle value.

  • ☛ Mode is the number from a data set which has the highest frequency and is calculated by counting the number of times each value occurs.
