Ozymandias is a sonnet written by Shelley. In this poem, the poet explores the power of time. The sonnet has really long sentences and appears more to be a conclusion of some tragedy. It shares how Ozymandias, a powerful king, is lost with the passage of time. Nothing remains of the great king. Everything possessed by the king is decayed and there is almost nothing left to reveal his power. Unlike usual poems, this poem does not end on any ray of hope. There is a sense of vanity exposed in the poem.

Ozymandias was a tyrannical figure. He once ruled the people and was so mighty that the might of any other ruler was nothing for him. He was the king of kings. However, the irony is that, A mighty king who once ruled everyone is gone. His statue is like a visage and his kingdom has turned into a desert.
