Different methods through which they convert from one state to another are :

1) Melting : Solid ice gets converted into liquid water by heating .

2) Freezing : Liquid water gets converted into solid ice on cooling.

3) Evaporation : Liquid water gets converted into water vapour by heating at any temperature.

4) Boiling : Liquid water gets converted into steam by heating only at boiling point (100°C) .

5) Condensation : Water vapour/steam gets converted into liquid water on cooling.
