The Migratory Bird Convention Act 1917 was the Canadian version of the United States Migratory Bird Convention Act with Canada. It was also the Canadian analogy to the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918 until 1994, when it was substantially revamped. The revised law contains many provisions that the old one did not. These sanctuaries and wildlife areas are scattered across Canada, but are most numerous along the eastern seaboard and the prairies of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
