  2. Minerals are classified into two types: Metallic and non-metallic. Metallic Minerals: They are further sub-divided into ferrous and non-ferrous. Ferrous minerals: They contain iron. Examples are iron ore, manganese ore, chromite, pyrite, nickel, and cobalt.
