This is because all adults irrespective of what religion they belong to, what cause they are, how much education they had, whether they are rich are poor are allowed to vote. this is called Universal adult franchise. it is based on the idea of equality as it states every adult irrespective of their wealth and committee he she belongs to has Right to vote.
