Answer, if u can ( This question was asked in IIM Entrance ) A very simple but confusing puzzle. A lady buys goods worth Rs.200/- from a shop. (shopkeeper selling the goods with zero profit). The lady gives him 1000 rupee note. The shopkeeper gets the change from the next shop and keeps Rs.200/- for himself and returns Rs.800/- to the lady. Later, the shopkeeper of the next shop comes with the 1000 rupee note saying "fake" and takes his money back. "How much LOSS did the shopkeeper face ?" A. Rs. 200 B. Rs. 800 C. Rs. 1200 D. Rs. 1800 E. Rs. 2000 F. Rs. 1600 G. Other Simple yet very confusing and challenging. One *bottle* will be opened for correct answer.

A lady buys goods of 200/- from a shop and gives the shopkeeper a 1000/- note.


The shopkeeper gets change from the next shop and returns 800/- to the lady keeping 200/-.


The other shopkeeper comes back and says the note is fake and takes his 1000/- back.


The shopkeeper returns 1000/- to him.  


Therefore, the total amount returned by the shopkeeper is 800 + 1000 = 1800/-.


The total loss of the shopkeeper is 1800/-
