The shopkeeper faced a loss of Rs 1000
Step-by-step explanation, whether the shopkeeper having profit or loss:-
- This is a very simple and logical question.
- A lady buys goods worth rs.200. The lady gives him a Rs 1000 note. Since the note is being fake and has no value. (Here, Loss Rs 200)
- But, The shopkeeper didn't have the change. So, The shopkeeper gets the change from the next shop by giving that duplicate thousand rupees note. (Here, Profit Rs 1000) But he has a loss of Rs 200.
- Rs 1000 - Rs 200 = Rs 800. (Here, Profit of Rs 800)
- The shopkeeper returns to the lady and gives her Rs 800 which he has. (Here, 800 - 800 = 0 => No loss).
- Later the shopkeeper of the next shop comes with the 1000rs note saying "duplicate" and takes his money back. (Here, Loss Rs 1000) So, He faced a loss of Rs 1000.
Hence, The shopkeeper faced a loss of Rs 1000.
