A higher frequency sound is heard as higher pitch.

Frequency is the number of waves passing a point in unit time.

(iii) Identify the shrillest sound.

Shrillest sound is the high pitched sound.

A has high pitch, so the shrillest sound is A.

(iv) Identify the softest sound.

Softest sound is the one having low pitch.

C is the softest sound.
