Griffin was a brilliant inventor because he invented some drugs that can make human body invisible , but was not a true scientist because the things he dicovered was only for himself not for the benefit of the society and using his inventions he tried to harm the society for his enjoyment and rather he was a lawless person as he set fire to his landlord's house, robbed people out of their money and when he became furious he also hurt the people whereas the discovery of true scientist should be for larger section of society not just for himself.
