Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia's ideas touched the lofty heights of a prophetic visionary. He fought against injustice. He spoke on truth, caste discrimination, Olympic games, beauty contests, capitalism, liberalism, Cold War, philosophy, economics, language and culture. Almost all national and international situations invited his attention. He advocated avoidance of extremes in both theory and practice.
According to him the existing theories of Capitalism and Socialism had arisen in the Western Civilization and were inapplicable to non-European societies. So he made an effort to transcend and break away from the Western ideas of Capitalism and Socialism and form an indigenous model of Socialist Theory and Practice for India.
