2.The importance of IST is that India is a vast country there is a time lag of 2 hours from the westernmost part of India (Gujarat) and the easternmost part of india (Arunachal Pradesh). So, to run the country on the same time we are using Indian Standard Time also known as IST

3.The Deccan Plateau is a large plateau that covers most of South India. It is triangular, surrounded by three mountain ranges. It extends over eight Indian states (principally, Telangana, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu).

India's smallest Union Territory Lakshadweep is an archipelago consisting of 36 islands with an area of 32 sq km.
