A conducting spherical shell having inner radius a and outer radius b carries a net charge q. If a point charge q is placed at the centre of this shell, then the surface charge density on the outer surface of the shell is 1) (3q)/(4pi * b ^ 2) 2) q/(4pi * b ^ 2) 4) Zero 3) 2q 4pi * b ^ 2

(a) Why should we conserve biodiversity?
Answer - We should conserve biodiversity because it is very important for all living organisms and for the environment. We should conserve biodiversity to save it from becoming extinct.
(b) Protected forests are also not completely safe for wild animals. Why?
Answer - The protected forests are not also safe completely for wildlife because the poaching takes place at large scale in these areas. The poachers kill wild animals in those protected areas. Many species of plants and animals are destroyed due to deforestation.
(c) Some tribals depend on the jungle. How?
Answer - Some tribals live in jungles because the forest provides any resource they need to sustain life. They get clean water from the forest, gather fruits and vegetables, and hunt for jungle-living animals. All the houses they live in are made up of items taken from the forest.
(d) What are the causes and consequences of deforestation?
Answer - Forests are cleared in order to obtain land for urbanisation and industrialisation. Forests are destroyed to clear land for cultivation of crops and cattle grazing. Trees are cut down to be used for firewood.
(e) What is Red Data Book?
Answer - The Red Data Book is a public database produced to record endangered and rare species of plants, animals, fungi, and some local subspecies present in a given area.
(f) What do you understand by the term migration?
Answer - Migration refers to the movement of an organism or a group of organisms from its natural habitat to another place at a particular time every year. Organisms migrate from one place to another to avoid inhabitable climatic conditions or for breeding.
