(1) Location of Gharapuri ( Elephant ) island : (1 ) A piece of land that is surrounded on all sides by water is called island. (2) Gharapuri ( Elephant) island is a small island located in Trombay creek, near South Mumbai . (3) Gharapuri ( Elephant) island is located in Raigad district.

(2) Area of Gharapuri ( Elephant) island : (1) The island has an area about 10 km 2 at high tide. (2) It has an area about 16 km 2 at low tide.

(3) Transportation facities to reach Gharapuri ( Elephant) island :( 1 ) There are boats or ferry ride facilities from Gateway of India to Gharapuri ( Elephant) caves. (2) It takes around 1 hour to reach Gharapuri ( Elephant) caves from Gateway of India. (3) one can get a fine views of skyscrapers located in Mumbai, massive tanker ships, seagulls, etc. during the journey.
