Answer:

Answer is 9

Step-by-step explanation:

X. c.f. frequency

2. 21. 21

3. 44. 23

5. 68. 24

7. 74. 6

9. 105. 31

Answer- The above question is from the chapter 'Statistics'.

Statistics- It is a branch of Mathematics dealing with the collection and analysis of data which can be single as well as grouped.

Mean, median and mode are called 'Measures of Central Tendency'.

Mean: Average of a given data is called mean.

Median: The middle most value of a given data is called median.

Mode: The most frequently occurring value in a given data is called mode.

Single data is called ungrouped data.

Finding mean-

Mean = Sum of observations ÷ Number of observations

Finding median-

Median = Middle most value after arranging in ascending or descending order

Median = (n + 1)th term/2 where n= number of observations (n = odd)

Median = (1/2) × (n/2)th term + (n/2 + 1) th term where n = number of observations (n = even)

Finding mode-

Mode = Most frequently occurring value

Given question: The mode of the following data is ___ .

(Table is already attached in the question.)

(1) 10

(2) 9

(3) 5

(4) 3

Solution: We have been given cumulative frequency.

Rearranging the table, we get,

X                         Frequency

2                              21(21)

3                              23(44 - 21)

5                              24(68 - 44)

7                               6(74 - 68)

9                              31(105 - 74)

10                             18(123 - 105)

We know that,

Mode = Most frequently occurring value

Most frequently occurring value is 31.

So, mode = 9.

∴ (2) 9 is the correct option.
