Lets first convert the symbols into variables

Φ = x

Θ = y

According to the question

y = 3x

Therefore,

x + y = 180 (Linear Pair)

x + 3x = 180

4x = 180

x = 180 / 4

x = 45

Hope it helps

Answer:

45°

Step-by-step explanation:

Question: In the given figure, straight lines AB and CD intersect at O. If ∠AOC = Φ , ∠BOC = θ and Φ = 3θ, then Φ = ?

Given, that AB is a straight line.

       On a straight line, sum of all angles constructed on a particular side is always 180°.(linear pairs)

   In this figure,     ∠AOD + ∠DOB = 180°

   also   ∠AOC + ∠COB = 180°

          ⇒ Φ + θ = 180°

          ⇒ Φ + 3Φ = 180°         [θ = 3Φ]

          ⇒ 4Φ = 180°

          ⇒ Φ = 180°/4

          ⇒ Φ = 45°

Therefore the required value of Φ is 45°
