Let, A be any vector of magnitude A. And B with magnitude B

So, Magnitude of A+B =√(A²+B²+2ABcosΦ)

and That of A–B=√(A²+B²–2ABcosΦ)

So, the resultant of (A+B) and (A–B) will be given by the vector A
