Total number of resistances = n

In case of parallel combination,

 \frac{1}{resultant \: resistance}  =  \frac{1}{r}  + \frac{1}{r} + \frac{1}{r} + \frac{1}{r} + \frac{1}{r} + \frac{1}{r} + (upto \: n \: times) =  \frac{n}{r}

or, resultant resistance = r/n

or, x = r/n (since the value of resultant resistance is given n)

or, r = nx

So, the value of each resistances = r = nx

The problem is not finished! wait (-_^)

For series, resultant resistance = r+r+r+r+r+r+r+ (upto n times) = nr = nx (since, r = nx) = x [Ans.]

Correct answer is (C) xn²
