All logarithms can be expressed in an exponential form.
 if \: log_{a}(x) = b \\ then \: {a}^{b} = x
We will use this in the sum above
 log_{b}(b) = 1 \\ converting \: to \: exponential \: fom \\ {b}^{1} = b
Since any number raised to 1 is the number itself, the first equation is proved.

 log_{b}(1) = 0 \\ converting \: to \: exponential \: form \\ {b}^{0} = 1
Since any number raised to 0 is equal to 1, the second equation is also proved.
