first of all

the volume of well=πr²h

= 22/7×3/2×3/2×14

= 11×3×3

= 99m cube

now,the volume of embankment = 22/7×h[(1.5+4×1.5+4)-1.5×1.5]

99=22/7×h(5.5×5.5-2.25)

99=22/7×h(30.25-2.25)

99=22/7×h×28

99=88h

99/88=h

9/8=h

h=1.125m

A well of diameter 3 m is dug which is 14 m deep.

We can say that the well is cylindrical.

Volume of the well = \pi r^{2} h

Volume = \pi *\frac{3}{2} *\frac{3}{2} *14

             = 99

The same mud is used to form a circular ring of width 4 m

A circular ring can be viewed as two concentric cylinders. The volume of the ring is actually the difference in the volumes of both the complete cylinders.

If  R is the radius of larger cylinder and r is radius of smaller cylinder,

Volume of ring = \pi R^2h - \pi r^2h

                         = \pi h(R^2-r^2)

R = \frac{3}{2} +4=\frac{11}{2} m

r = \frac{3}{2} m

Hence volume of ring = \pi h[(\frac{11}{2})^2 -(\frac{3}{2})^2]

                                     = 88h

Volume of well = Volume of ring

99 = 88h

h = \frac{9}{8} = 1.125m

HOPE THIS HELPS!!
