GivEn :

  • Recipe required cup of flour = \large{\sf{3 \frac{1}{4} }}cup.
  • \small{\sf{ Radha\: has{\large \: 1 \frac{3}{8} }\: {\small{cup\: flour}}}}

To finD:

  • How many more cup of flour is required to make recipe.

Solution :

  • Let supposing that required flour is a.

Now,

According the the given condition,

We can say that :

Total flour required = a + cup of flour Radha have.

=> \large{\sf{3 \frac{1}{4}  = a  + 1 \frac{3}{8}}}

=> \large{\sf{ a \: =\: 3 \frac{1}{4} -  1 \frac{3}{8}}}

=> \large{\sf{ a =   \frac{13}{4}  -  \frac{11}{8} }}

=> \large{\sf{a =  \frac{26 - 11}{8} }}

=> \large{\sf{ a =   \frac{15}{8} }}

=> \large{\sf{ a = 1  \frac{7}{8} }}

Hence,

\large{\boxed{\bf{\green{ required \: flour\: = \:  1 \frac{7}{8} \: or\: \frac{15}{8}}}}}
