Let us assume that √3+√5 is rational no.

so,√3+√5=r

(where r is a rational no.)

√3=r-√5

we know that √3 and √5 are irrational no.

So,irrational=rational-irrational(rational-irrational=irrational)

So,irrational(√3)=irrational(r-√5)

hence, our assumption of √3+√5 as rational was wrong

hence,√3+√5 is an irrational no.

hope it helps...
