Give scientific reasons :

• All mass of an atom is concentrated in the nucleus.

• Atom is electrically neutral.

• Atomic mass number is a whole number.

• Atoms are stable do they have negatively charged electrons revolving within it .

Answer :

1) All mass of an atom is concentrated in the nucleus.

=> Mass of an atom is counted or measured on the basis of the protons present in it . We know the protons and neutrons are present in the centre of the electron cloud forming A nucleus. So , the mass of an atom is concentrated in the nucleus.

2) Atom is electrically neutral.

=> Atoms have electrons (negatively charged particles) and protons (positively charged particles) in an equal number. So , following the same reason it is electrically neutral.

3) Atomic mass number is whole number .

=> We know that every substance around us is made up of matter and matter is made up of atoms. Every atom has a specific value which obviously starts from 0 but not negative . Hence , atomic mass of a number is whole number.

4) Atoms are stable though they have charged electrons revolving around .

=> As discussed earlier ; atom has both positively and negatively charged particles in equal amounts which balance either of them. Thus atoms are stable.
