1) Motion is the phenomenon in which an object changes its position over time. Motion is mathematically described in terms of displacement, distance, velocity, acceleration, speed, and time.

2) Linear motion.

3) Quantities that have direction and magnitude, are called vector quantity.

4) Quantities that have only magnitude are called scaler quantity.

5) Distance is a scalar quantity that refers to "how much ground an object has covered" during its motion.

6) Displacement is a vector quantity that refers to "how far out of place an object is"; it is the object's overall change in position.

7) When a body moves along a straight line with uniform speed or steady speed is called Uniform motion.

8) When a body moves along a straight line but with variable or change in speed is called non-uniform motion.

9) The speed at which something moves in a particular direction is called velocity.

10) Acceleration is the rate of change of the velocity of an bject with respect to time. Accelerations are vector quantities. The orientation of an object's acceleration is given by the orientation of the net force acting on that object.

11) There are 10 types of motion. Rotatory motion, rotatory motion, oscillatory motion, uniform circular and periodic motion, rectilinear motion, oscillatory motion and periodic motion.

Explanation:

1) A body is said to be in motion when it's position changes continuously with respect to a stationary object taken as reference point.

2) Motion along a straight line is linear motion.

3) A Physical quantity which have magnitude as well as direction is known as vector quantity.

4) A physical quantity having only magnitude is known as a scalar quantity.

5) The distance travelled by a body is the actual length of path covered by a moving body irrespective of the direction in which the body travels

6) When a body moves from one postion to another, the shortest distance between the initial position and final position of the body, along with direction is known as it's displacement.

7)A body has a uniform motion if it travels equal distance in equal intervals of time, no matter how small these time intervals may be.

8)A body has a Non-Uniform motion if it travels unequal distances in equal intervals of time.

9) Velocity of a body is the distance travelled by it per unit time in a given direction.

10) Acceleration of a body is defined as the rate of changes of its velocity with time.

11) 2 types of motion are there :-

a) Uniform motion

b) Non-uniform motion
