Answer:

(a) The answer is 3.

(b) The HCF of 26, 28 and 30 is 2.

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) Given: [ { 56 ÷ (14×4) + 13 }  ÷ 7 + 1 ]

The following question has to be solved as per BODMAS rule which stands for Bracket, Order, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction.

Now, as there are three types of brackets:

Round brackets ( ), curly brackets { }, and square brackets [ ]

So, when we deal with brackets, we have to first operate with the round brackets ( ) followed by curly brackets { }, and then at last with square brackets [ ].

According to question:

⇒ [ { 56 ÷ (14×4) + 13 } ÷ 7 + 1 ]

⇒ [ { 56 ÷ 56 + 13 } ÷ 7 + 1 ]

⇒ [ { 1 + 13 } ÷ 7 + 1 ]

⇒ [ 14 ÷ 7 + 1 ]

⇒ [ 2 + 1 ]

⇒ 3

∴ The answer is 3.

(b) To find the HCF of 26, 28 and 30, we can use Prime Factorization Method.

26 = 2 × 13 × 1

28 = 2 × 2 × 7 × 1

30 = 2 × 3 × 5 × 1

We know, HCF = Highest Common Factor

∴ The HCF of 26, 28 and 30 = 2 × 1

                                               = 2
