☞ Remainder = -5

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\blue{Given}

✭ y³+y²+2y+3 ÷ y+2

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\gray{To \:Find}

◈ The remainder?

━━━━━━━━━━━━━

\huge\sf\purple{Steps}

So here what we have to do first is equate y+2 with 0

➝ y+2 = 0

➝ y = -2

So now that we got the value of y let's substitute in p(y)

\sf p(-2) = (-2)^3 + (-2)^2 + 2(-2) + 3

\sf p(-2) = -8 + 4 -4 + 3

\sf p(-2) = -12 + 7

\sf \orange{p(-2) = -5}

So the remainder when y³ + y² + 2y + 3 ÷ y+2 is -5

Note : This Question can also be solved with the help of division but I've just used remainder theorem as the question asks us only the remainder and not the quotient
