Distance b/w foot of rod and wall b=to find

Therefore we can apply Pythagoras' Theorem here
From Pythagoras' Theorem
=>h²=p²+b²
But we have to find b
Putting all the values from equation (i) and (ii) we get:
=>(5cm)²=(3cm)²+b²
