ABCD & AXYZ are both squares so, we can prove that their sides are equal and their angles are 90

triangle ABX congruent to triangle ADZ

hence,

BX = DZ thus,

BY = BX + XY

=5+2

DZ=DY+YZ

=3+2=5 cm

AD2=DZ2+AZ2

=25+4

=29

AD=

BX2=AB2-AX2

=29-4

=25

BX=5

BY=XY+BX

=2+5

=7cm
