Let the given polynomial is denoted by P(x)

i.e., P(x)= x^2-x-(2x+2).

Now, -4 is the root of the given polynomial P(x) => P(-4)=0.

=> 0= (-4)^2-(-4)-(2k+2)

=>0= 16+8-2k-2

=>0= 22-2k

=> k= 11.

I hope you will get it.
