Increase the cross sectional area of wire you are using .If you are using a wire of unit cross sectional area then after doubling cross sectional area the resistance will be 1/4 of its previous value .Then record voltage by using voltmeter .When using 2nd wire the voltage drop is less than the 1st wire as V is directly proportional to R(Ohms law).
