I. 1. All of the different combinations of these genes come together to determine how you look. Even though we get all our DNA from our parents, each of us has a unique combination of genes. Sometimes that means we don't look like them at all. There are tons of genes that shape our appearance.

2. The cell wall provides the cell with protection from all the unfavorable conditions. Without the cell wall, the plant cell will collapse. Uptake of nutrients would be tough and the cell would be without any protection. Hence the plant would eventually die.

3.  Animal Cell-

  • smaller
  • no cell walls
  • nucleus in center
  • many vacuoles
  • cannot synthesis nutrients
  • no plasmodesmata

Plant Cell-

  • larger
  • cell wall
  • nucleus in side
  • one vacuole
  • synthesizes nutrients
  • has plasmodesmata

I Question 1 ⤵

you look similar to your parents externaly in some aspects ? Why ?

Answer

A pair of alleles is called a genotype. A dominant trait is the trait that will appear in the offspring over the recessive trait received from the other parent. We resemble our parents because of genes we inherit from them.

Question 2 ⤵

what happen when cell wall is not present in a cell ? write the importance of cell wall ?

Answer

  • If cell wall is absent in plant cell then all the functioning of all the cell organelles present inside the cell would be affected as diffusion of various substances would not occur. Due to absence of turgor pressure, the cell will not bear the concentration of solution (either hypertonic or hypotonic) and will burst

Importance

  • A major role of the cell wall is to form a framework for the cell to prevent over expansion. Cellulose fibers, structural proteins, and other polysaccharides help to maintain the shape and form of the cell. Additional functions of the cell wall include: Support: The cell wall provides mechanical strength and support.

Question 3 ⤵

write difference between plant cell and animal cell ? Draw diagram where it is necessary ?

Answer

Animal cells

  • Animals are made up of millions of cells. Animal cells have an irregular structure and are made up of four key parts:

  • Nucleus – This contains genetic material (DNA), and controls the cell's activity.

  • Cell membrane – A flexible layer that surrounds the cell and controls the substances that enter and exit.

  • Cytoplasm – A jelly-like substance where the chemical reactions happen.

  • Mitochondria – This is where energy is released from the food molecules.

Plant cells

  • Plants are also made up of millions of cells. Plant cells have a nucleus, cell membrane, cytoplasm and mitochondria too, but they also contain the following structures:

  • Cell wall – A hard layer outside the cell membrane, containing cellulose to provide strength to the plant.

  • Vacuole – A space inside the cell that is used to store substances and help the cell keep its shape.

  • Chloroplasts – Structures that contain the green pigment chlorophyll, which are a key part of photosynthesis.
