Answer

Area of a triangle=30 cm

length of AD=60/13

AABC is right - angled at A. so, BC is definitely hypotenuse. let AB is base and AC is height of AABC. given, AB = 5cm , BC = 13cm and AC = 12c

now, area of triangle AABC = 1/2 x base x height

= 1/2 x length of AB x length of AC

= 1/2 x 5cm x 12cm = 30 cm2

hence, area of ABC = 30 cm

area of ABC = 1/2 x length of AB x length of AC =1/2 × length of BC x length of AD

=> 5cm x 12cm = 13cm x length of AD => 60/13 = 60/13 cm

Hope it helps
