because old means aged..
while new doesnt mean young..

Elderly people are called old people because of the following reasons:

1. because they are aged and they were born a long time ago.
2. they are very experienced and have good info about everything they knew

But children are never called new people because:

1. That doesn't actually make some sense and certain things like what you've asked won't have answers because.... that doest make any sense.
