Answer: Here you will have to apply the lens formula.

Explanation: Given that, u= -30cm; f= 20cm

By lens formula,

1/v - 1/u= 1/f

1/v= 1/f+1/u

1/v= 1/20-1/30

1/v= 3/60-2/60; Hence, 1/v=1/60 ∴v=60cm

The position of the image from lens is 60cm.

Magnification= v/u= 60/-30= -2

Size of image = Magnification * Size of object

                       = -2*5 = -10cm

Therefore, the image formed will be 60 cm or beyond 2F on the side opposite to the lens where the object is placed between f and 2f. Hence the image is real, inverted and magnified.
