a = 3 , b = 2k , c = 27

if the roots are real and equal , then

 \bf \: b {}^{2}  - 4ac = 0

  • (2k)² - 4×3×27 = 0

  • 4k² - 324 = 0.

  • 4k² = 324

  • k² = 81

  • k = ± 9

Step-by-step explanation:

3 {x}^{2}  + 2kx + 27 = 0 \\ comparinng \: equation \: with \:  \\ a {x}^{2}  + bx + c = 0 \\ a = 3 \\ b = 2k \\ c = 27 \\ now \: roots \: are \: equal \: and \: zero \\ so \\  {b}^{2}  - 4ac = 0 \\  {(2k)}^{2}  - 4 \: (3) \: (27) = 0 \\ 4 {k}^{2}  - 4 \times 3 \times 27 = 0 \\ 4 {k}^{2}  = 4 \times 3 \times 27 \\  {k}^{2}  = 3 \times 27 \\  {k}^{2}  = 81 \\ k =   -  9  \: \: or \:  + 9
