  • Value of x = 100°
  • Value of y = 30°
  • Value of z = 30°

Given

  • ∠POS = 80°
  • ∠PQO = 50°

To Calculate

  • Value of x, y and z

Solution

First we will find x

➞ ∠POS + ∠SOR = 180° [ Linear Pair ]

➞ 80° + x = 180°

➞ x = 180° - 80°

➞ x = 100°

Now, we will find POQ

➞ ∠POQ + ∠POS = 180°

➞ ∠POQ + 80° = 180°

➞ ∠POQ = 180° - 80°

➞ ∠POQ = 100°

In △POQ

➞ ∠QPO + ∠PQO + ∠POQ = 180° [ Angle Sum Property ]

➞ y + 50° + 100° = 180°

➞ y + 150° = 180°

➞ y = 180° - 150°

➞ y = 30°

PQRS is a Quadrilateral in which SR || PQ

and RP is a transversal

So,

y = z = 30° [ Alternate Interior Angle ]

Therefore value of x = 100°, y = 30° and z = 30°.
