Question 1 :-

The remainder obtained when x¹⁰⁰ is divided by ( x - 1 ) is

Answer :-

By using remainder theorem -

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

Substituting value of x in polynomial :-

1¹⁰⁰ = 1

Remainder = 1

Question 2 :-

For the quadratic polynomial ⅔ x² - ⅘ x + ⅞, sum of zeros is

Answer :-

For quadratic equation,

  • sum of zeros = -b/a

Sum of zeros for given equation= -(- ⅘) / ⅔

= 6/5

Sum of zeros = 6/5

Question 3 :-

If A = { 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 } , B = { 4 , 5 } then A∩B

Answer :-

Here, A∩B = { 4 , 5 } which is same as B

So, A∩B = B

Question 4 :-

If p(x) = x³ - x² + 3x + k is divided ( x - 1 ) , remainder obtained is 3, then the value of k is

Answer :-

By using remainder theorem -

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

Substituting in polynomial and equating to 3 -

1³ - 1² + 3(1) + k = 3

1 - 1 + 3 + k = 3

3 + k = 3

k = 3 - 3

k = 0

Value of k = 0
