Given - angle CAB = angle CBA angle EDC = 30°

TO find - x and y

Solution - In triangle ABC,

angle A + angle B + angle C = 180°. {Angle Sum properties of Triangle}

30° + 30° + angle C = 180°
Angle C = 180 - 60 = 120°

Now, angle C + x = 180° { a ray standing on a line makes supplementary angles}

60° + x = 180°
x = 60° **

Now, In triangle CDE,

x + angle D = y {Exterior angle of a triangle is equal to sum of opposite interior angles}[exterior angle property]

60 + 30 = 90°

=> y = 90°

** [ This can also be done using exterior angle property]

Hope this helps!!!!
