Answer:

1. Mass number (A) = 24

Atomic number (Z) = 12

No. of neutrons (n) = 24 - 12 = 12

2. We do electronic configuration by K, L, M, N rule in which K shell contains 2 , L shell contains 8 , M shell contains 18 and N shell contains 32.

Atomic no. 18 is Argon = K L M N

= 2 8 8

Atomic no. 19 is Potassium = K L M N

= 2 8 9

Here, in order to obtain the octate state potassium will donate it's one outermost electron.

3. We know in an atom ,

No. of protons ( positive charge) = No. of electrons ( negative charge)

When there are equal no. of positive energy and and negative energy they cancel out each other and there forms zero energy ( = no energy) and the atom is considered as neutral.

4. In an atom , there are protons and neutrons and the electrons revolve in the valence shells.

So in order to calculate the mass of an atom we have to consider proton and neutrons

Mass number (A) = protons + neutrons

5.A = Mass number

Z = atomic number

X = atomic symbol

HOPE THIS HELPS YOU... =)
