Given,

distance = 100 km

time taken = 1 1/4 h = 5/4 h

.°. Speed

= distance/time

= 100/(5/4)

= 100 × 4/5

= 80 km/h

a) Speed = 80km/h

distance = 30 km

.°. Speed = distance/time

=> 80 = 30/time

=> time = 30/80

=> time = 3/8

.°. time = 3/8 h

b) Speed = 80 km/h

time = 2 h

.°. speed = distance/ time

=> 80 = distance/ 2

=> 80 × 2 = distance

=> distance = 160

.°. distance = 160 km

Answer:

3/8 hours or 0.375 hours , 160km

Step-by-step explanation:

Time taken by car to travel 100km = 1¼ = 5/4 hours

Time taken by car to travel 1km = 5/4×1/100 = 1/80 hours

Time taken by car to travel 30km = 1/80×30 = 3/8 hours or 0.375 hours

Distance covered by car in 5/4 hours = 100km

Distance covered by car in 1 hour = 100×4/5 = 80km

Distance covered by car in 2 hours = 80×2= 160km
