Answer: (c) 410.67 sq. cm

Solution:

Area of smaller circle

\tt{\pi r^{2} = 49\pi} sq. cm

Area of bigger circle

\tt{\pi r^{2} = 196\pi} sq. cm

Area of sector of bigger circle

\tt{\frac{A}{360} \pi r^{2} = \frac{40}{360} \times 196 \pi = \frac{196\pi}{9}}\\

Area of sector of smaller circle

\tt{\frac{A}{360} \pi r^{2} = \frac{40}{360} \times 49 \pi = \frac{49\pi}{9}}\\

Area of shaded region

\tt{196\pi - 49\pi - \frac{196\pi}{9} + \frac{49\pi}{9}}\\

=> 1232/3 = 410.67 sq. cm
