✴Intensity ratio of two light waves have different amplitude.

Let "a" and "b" be the amplitudes and I 1 and I 2 be the intensities of light waves from two different sources.

As. Intensity Amplitude ²

 \frac{ i_{1} }{ i_{2} }  =  \frac{ {a}^{2} }{ {b}^{2} }

Amplitude at a maximum in interference pattern

=> a + b

Amplitude at a minimum in interference pattern

=> a b

Therefore, the ratio of intensities at maxima and minima is

 \frac{ I_{max} }{ I_{min} }  =  \frac{ {(a + b)}^{2} }{ {(a - b)}^{2} }

hope it helps you..

Thank you..!!
