perimeter \: of \: rectangle = 2(l + b)

2(l + b) = 140

2(l + 20) = 140

l + 20 = 140  \div 2

l + 20 = 70

l = 70 - 20

l = 40cm

Now Area ,

length = 40 cm & breadth = 20 cm

area \: of \: rectangle = l \times b

= 40 × 20

 = 400 {cm}^{2}
