Hey mate ....Here is ur answer....

If a cell has 16 chromosomes in it then at G1 the chromosome number will not change i.e. it will remain 16
In S phase DNA replication occurs so there will also be 16 chromosomes as 2 chromatids with 1 centromere is also called a chromosome.
After M phase chromosome number will again be same as mitosis is equational division i.e. number of chromosome remains same.

If the DNA content after M phase is 2C then both the daughter cells must have 2C number of DNA .So before M phase there will be 4C DNA.
In S phase number of DNA must be 4C and same must be in G2 phase as Division do not occurs till then.
Finally DNA number in G1 phase must be 2C as replication of DNA occurs in S phase and before S phase DNA number is half.
